On my design wall

My Kona fabric finally arrived in the mail, so I’ve been working on my guild challenge.  Here’s the Kona Modern print that I received, plus the solids I ordered.

I started with a wonky center square and just added to it without a real plan for the finished quilt.  Once it was about 25″ square, I looked at a couple of options on my design wall.

The on-point arrangement just didn’t work for me, so I’m going with the second design.  I love using an improv, wonky process, because it goes together so quickly – no precise measuring required!

I haven’t done much on the tree quilt, and it will probably be a couple of weeks before I have anything to show, as I’m off to Houston on Friday for the International Quilt Market and Festival.

I’m linking up with these blogs for WiP Wednesday.  Click on the buttons below to see all the people participating and check out their projects.

I love solids. Looks like you had fun with your fabrics.

  8. Love the striped fabric…wonky on purpose, and such great colours! And I rather agree that to put that block on point would have been (as my late mom would have said) “too much of a muchness”. 🙂

I am very impressed with your wonky top. The colours are yummy, and it is just wonky in two dimensions, not three like when I try that…..
