The piecing of the tree quilt is progressing well.
The tree quilt technique requires very careful and precise piecing, so it was a pleasure to take a break with some improv piecing for the VMQG scrap bag challenge and swap. This is the back of the mug rug I’m making. I’ll show the front after our guild meeting on Monday.
An online group I belong to – a team of quilters who sell on Etsy, called the Quiltsy Team has started a group project to help one of our members, Krystyna of www.etsy.com/shop/SomewhereByTheSea, who lost her house and contents during Hurricane Sandy. We’re going to make a rail fence quilt for her. I’m making 2 blocks from these batik fabrics.
I’m linking up with these blogs for WiP Wednesday. Click on the buttons below to see all the people participating and check out their projects.
I love the batiks you are using for the rail fence block. I participating in Quilting Gallery’s Sandy Quilt Block project. I am assembling four quilts for victims of hurricane Sandy.
Love the idea of a scrap bag challenge. Your tree quilt is going to be spectacular!
I can’t wait to see this tree quilt in person. Have to say, I’ve gotten a little carried away with my scrapbag challenge piece :), but the scrap fabrics were so fun!
Simple rails are looking very nice!
Sorry to hear about your friend’s loss. Glad you are helping her out!
Love the orange and the batik and rail fence are looking good.
