Aug 30. Continued. We visited the Abbotsbury Swannery where several hundred mute swans reside. In addition to the white adult swans, we saw a few grey cygnets, a couple of black swans and other waterfowl including ducks, gulls and Canada geese. We were there for the noon mass feeding of the swans where some of the swans swarm the wheelbarrow full of birdseed. ...4 2View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18153181150448502Aug 31

Aug 30. Portland, England. We travelled to the little village of Abbotsbury, home to a lovely subtropical garden, and a swannery where over 1,000 mute swans take shelter.
In the garden, we wandered the paths admiring the plants and sculptures. We climbed the steep hillside to the Viewpoint where we could look down on the Dorset coastline far below. ...12 0View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18369506935208036Aug 30

Aug 28. London at night.
We did an open top evening bus tour with a live guide. It was interesting to see the City illuminated at night. We did have some rain but the temperature was comfortable. The clouds even cleared briefly to provide a glimpse of the full moon over the Tower Bridge. ...13 2View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18020329259863393Aug 29

Aug 28. London.
Our last day in London. We spent the morning walking. We wandered through Fitzrovia, SoHo, Chinatown, the Theatre District, Piccadilly Circus, past Canada House, Trafalgar Square, The Mall, Buckingham Palace and we saw the Changing of the Guard.
Then back to the hotel to pack, as tomorrow we transfer to our ship for our Iceland cruise. ...19 3View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 17897904783604552Aug 28

Aug 27 continued. London.
After resting up from our very busy morning and afternoon, we decided to investigate nearby Regent’s Park. Once in the park, we wandered through the rose gardens, saw the Boy & Frog Statue, beautiful fountains, ponds, etc. It was a lovely contrast to the bustling city streets not far away. We did almost 19,000 steps today. ...11 0View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18118949942510792Aug 28

Aug 27. London. We booked tickets for the London Eye for this morning. It was a bit rainy when we started, but it cleared up enough that we got good photos and thoroughly enjoyed the ride and amazing views.
We took the bus to the Tower Bridge. Definitely a more scenic way to travel than on the Underground.
For lunch, we went back to the pizza restaurant at Piazza Walk off Lehman Street. The pizza was as good as we remembered and I was happy to see the horse sculptures again.
We bussed back to the hotel and enjoyed the views of the city from the top deck. ...21 1View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18067619729738559Aug 27

Aug 26. London. This morning we transfered from the ship to our hotel.
This afternoon we took the Underground to Abbey Road (where Denise strode across the famous crosswalk). Then we took the Underground to Green Park. We strolled through the park and around Buckingham Palace. ...18 3Tags
