My wish for March is much the same as for February: Spring flowers - crocuses, daffodils and more. And no snow! ...7 0View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 17940873159147546Feb 28

This was so much fun! My lower mainland fibre art group meets once a month. In January our activity was making a fibre version of a ‘paper doll’. We were each given a 24 inch high doll shape made of interfacing. We were paired with another member and instructed to each make a ‘paper doll’ of the other person. I was paired with Jennie @jenniecole_artandquilts She made a doll representing me and I made one representing her.
There were almost 30 dolls displayed at our February meeting. I didn’t get photos of all of them but this is a good representation.
Can you guess which is me and which is Jennie? ...48 11View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18098080337498544Feb 16

Went for a walk today on the Pattullo Bridge. It has been closed to traffic as its replacement is now fully open. This weekend the old bridge is open to pedestrians and cyclists. After that it will be permanently closed, and will be demolished over the next 2 years.
I will be sad to see it go and I’m glad I got to say goodbye today. ...48 0View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 17908301367344881Feb 12

We visited the Vancouver Art Gallery last night. We enjoyed the exhibits on all 3 floors but what really captured my attention was the Jim Lambie: Zobop (Colour-Chrome) installation in the stairs and floor of the Gallery Rotunda.
They were covered with brightly coloured strips of industrial vinyl tape. The Rotunda can be viewed from all 3 floors so we captured several different views.

‘Gridded Circle’ is finished – 2016.05.29
I decided to quilt my circle quilt with a 1 inch grid, using yellow, orange and pink thread. I finished the edges with a facing for a clean look. I have submitted it for the fabric challenge on the MQG … Continue reading
A new circle quilt – 2016.05.25
After a couple of false starts (here and here), and receiving my order of black fabric to add to my collection of Riley Blake solids, I started a new entry to the MQG Sashing Stash fabric challenge. I reverted to … Continue reading
Star Trails – 2016.02.03
Last fall, when I heard that Brenda Gael Smith was curating a new textile art exhibition, a matter of time, I decided to submit an entry. Although my quilt was not one of the 32 selected, I really enjoyed … Continue reading
Bad Moon Rising – 2016.01.31

Circles circles everywhere – 2015.11.20
Last Saturday I taught my Circles Circles Circles workshop for the Fraser Valley Quilters Guild. It’s a technique workshop, where I teach participants how to design their own circle blocks, and to sew curves and circles with flat seams. Here … Continue reading
Off my design wall – 2015.11.09
My MQG Michael Miller challenge quilt is finished – except for the hand-sewing. (I’m accumulating quite a pile of quilts that need facings sewn down and/or sleeves sewn on.) Last week, I had the circle and the background pieced, and … Continue reading

Off my design wall – another circle quilt – 2015.08.19
Another week, another circle quilt! Although it looks finished, this quilt can still be considered a WiP because it doesn’t yet have a label, a hanging sleeve – or a title. (If you’re interested in titles for quilts – or … Continue reading

When I showed the progress on ‘Circular Thinking’ a couple of weeks ago, it was quilted and just waiting to be faced. I had quilted the right side with horizontal straight lines, and the left side with vertical lines. I … Continue reading
