Thursday. May 21. Part 3.
Our last night in Budapest. For our dinner we returned to the Cafe Vian for a great meal.
Then we had a night tour which started with a drive up to the Citadel for panoramic views of the city at sunset.
We visited Felix Kitchen and Bar, an upscale restaurant next to the Danube in the heart of the city, where we enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine and toasted the city.
We continued along the Danube River to the beautiful Parliament building with its illuminated façade reflected in the river. We could also see the Chain Bridge to our right and the Margaret Bridge to our left. ...43 7View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18007689074912186May 21

Thursday. May 21. Part 2.
After lunch we took the tram to Margaret Island. The tram was a great way to see more landmarks.
Margaret island is a 2.5 km long island right in the heart of the city between Buda and Pest on the Danube River, ideal for walking, cycling, picnics, and family outings. We sat in the shade of the trees and enjoyed watching and listening to the Music Fountain. Every hour, music plays and the water jets are synchronized so that the fountain seems to dance to the various classical themes played.
We also spotted a hooded crow, unusual to us but common in Europe. ...21 0View Instagram post by terryaskeartquiltsOpen post by terryaskeartquilts with ID 18101891873104276May 21

Wednesday. May 20. Part 3
In the evening, we walked to the nearby Liszt Ferenc Square, full of trees, benches, restaurants and public art. The Square is named after Franz Liszt (his Hungarian name is Liszt Ferenc), the great Hungarian composer.
We had a great dinner at Cafe Vian then strolled through the square. ...18 0Tags
