the required finished size of the quilt.\u00a0 I then trimmed the quilt\u00a0 1\/2 inch larger on all sides.\u00a0 I finished it with a facing, and I know from previous experience that these dimensions will give me the exact finished size I want, using a 1\/4 inch seam allowance and rolling the front of the quilt about 1\/8 inch to the back.<\/p>\n<p>I used a combination of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/tips-tutorials-and-more\/my-favorite-quilt-facing-technique\/\">my facing technique<\/a> and\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/thesillyboodilly.blogspot.ca\/2012\/09\/tutorial-super-duper-easy-way-to-face.html\" target=\"_blank\">this one<\/a> by Victoria at The Silly Boodilly.\u00a0 I prefer Victoria&#8217;s single-layer facing with the edge turned under 1\/4 inch, and her corner treatment.\u00a0 Some day, I&#8217;ll re-write my technique &#8211; for now I just refer to both.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve submitted my quilt to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fibreartnetwork.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fibre Art Network<\/a> &#8216;Abstracted&#8217; exhibit.\u00a0 Anne will be entering her piece in a couple of days.\u00a0 In June, I&#8217;m going to visit Anne, so we can see our two pieces side by side.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve finished the red bench quilt.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to call it &#8216;Solitude&#8217;.
