finish &#8211; 2014.01.26 &#8211; New design wall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I stumbled across this <a href=\"http:\/\/lcroswell.wordpress.com\/2008\/03\/29\/portable-design-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\">wonderful design wall<\/a> a few weeks ago.\u00a0 <em>It&#8217;s two-sided, it stands up straight by itself, and it&#8217;s on wheels!<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s made from two pieces on styrofoam attached to a rolling coat rack.\u00a0 I contacted Lynne to ask if it was still working for her.\u00a0 She confirmed that it&#8217;s standing up well, and even gave me some construction tips.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/T.Aske-portable-hinged-design-wall1.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" exactly what I need!\u00a0 I have no bare walls in my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/my-quilt-studio\/\" target=\"_blank\">quilt studio<\/a>, so my existing design wall leans against a wall of cupboards.\u00a0 It is moveable, but still needs to be propped against <em>something<\/em>.\u00a0 Also, because it&#8217;s inconvenient to move the design wall around, I&#8217;m not using the space behind it very efficiently.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_7997-001.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1802\" alt=\"IMG_7997-001\" into a cubbyhole behind the design wall.\u00a0\u00a0 For quite a while, the rolling table just sat in it&#8217;s cubbyhole because it was a hassle to get it out.\u00a0 Then, after I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/2013\/08\/25\/making-a-custom-portable-ironing-surface-2013-08-25\/\" target=\"_blank\">made an ironing mat<\/a> to fit the top of it, I moved it out into the studio.\u00a0 But now it never goes back into its cubbyhole, and the shelf behind the design wall has become a dumping ground for fabric scraps.<\/p>\n<p>I finally got all the materials and tools together, and assembled my new design wall this weekend.\u00a0 Now that I can wheel the wall around, I&#8217;ll be able to access and utilize the shelf and cupboards currently behind the design wall.\u00a0 In the photo on the left, the new design wall is standing in the usual place.\u00a0 In the photo on the right, it&#8217;s standing next to the usual place.<\/p>\n<p><a
