This past weekend, I attended a weekend quilt retreat with the Vancouver Modern Quilt <\/a>Guild<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 I worked on several projects, although I didn’t completely finish any – now I have to decide which to finish up first.\u00a0 (Sorry for the blurry photos – some were taken with my cell phone camera.)<\/p>\n

\"Plus<\/a>First I worked on my entry for the new MQG Michael Miller fabric challenge<\/a> – ‘plus’ blocks in a variety of sizes.\u00a0 I ran out of fabric, so this one will have to wait until I get more.<\/p>\n

\"Improv<\/a>Then, I worked on a project I started at a workshop<\/a> in February 2013.\u00a0 The blocks have been sitting in my UFO drawer for more than a year!\u00a0 I chopped them up, inserted some more strips of colored fabrics, and then sewed them all together.\u00a0 I think it’s ready to be quilted.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next I pulled out the Converging Corners blocks<\/a> I won at the last VMQG meeting.\u00a0 I decided to insert skinny black strips at each corner, and I really think it ties all the blocks together.\u00a0 I think it will look great with black binding.\u00a0 It also needs to be quilted.<\/p>\n

Although we spent most of our time quilting, there was also a lot of socializing, sharing of tips and tricks, eating, drinking wine, etc.\u00a0 Doesn’t this look like a happy group of quilters?<\/p>\n
