{"id":3906,"date":"2017-02-23T23:54:07","date_gmt":"2017-02-24T07:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/?p=3906"},"modified":"2017-02-23T23:54:07","modified_gmt":"2017-02-24T07:54:07","slug":"fabric-and-scrap-organization-2017-02-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/2017\/02\/23\/fabric-and-scrap-organization-2017-02-23\/","title":{"rendered":"Fabric and scrap organization &#8211; 2017.02.23"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m participating in an Instagram challenge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/organizedsewingspace2017\/\" target=\"_blank\">#organizedsewingspace2017<\/a> conceived and facilitated by <a href=\"http:\/\/stephjacobson.blogspot.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stephanie Jacobson<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 The challenge will run from January through June with two challenges\/tasks per month and an approximate two-week window per task &#8211; a 12-step plan!\u00a0 I didn\u2019t actively participate in January due to other commitments, but now I&#8217;ve joined in.<\/p>\n<p>The first assignment for February was <strong>Fabric Storage and Organization<\/strong>.\u00a0 I&#8217;m happy with my basic fabric system, but it had gotten totally out of control! My fabric should all be in the 12 wire baskets, but as I&#8217;ve been working on projects, the fabric has migrated to the counter-top, and to boxes and bags on the floor. In order to get to the fabric, I first had to clean off the table. Most of my fabric is fat quarter size or smaller &#8211; I only have one wire drawer with larger pieces, mainly used for quilt backs. The boxes on the right hold some of my scraps. Here you can see 3 boxes filled with scraps sorted by color, two boxes of unsorted scraps and a bag of solid scraps.
