Happy news<\/strong> – I sold one of the pieces in our textile exhibit ArchiTEXTURE<\/a> at the Anvil Centre!\u00a0 So I got to put the red dot sticker (indicating it’s sold) on the card and the price list.\u00a0 I’ve sold pieces in shows in the past, but I’ve never had the experience of putting the red dot in place myself – so a double thrill!<\/p>\n

“Where I Live” is a small art quilt (12 x 10 inches) that I made in 2013 for a magazine challenge about maps.\u00a0 It’s a map of the area where I live – New Westminster and surrounding municipalities.\u00a0 You can read about my design and construction process here<\/a> and here<\/a>.\u00a0 (By the way, it really is square!\u00a0 It’s just the way it’s hanging that makes it look a little wonky.)<\/p>\n

New work<\/strong> -I’m about to start working on 4 new art quilts, all of which are due before the end of September.\u00a0 Fortunately, they are all going to be fairly small, so I should be able to meet the deadlines.\u00a0 Here’s a peek at what I will be working on.<\/p>\n
