{"id":576,"date":"2013-01-02T14:30:20","date_gmt":"2013-01-02T22:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/?p=576"},"modified":"2013-01-02T14:31:06","modified_gmt":"2013-01-02T22:31:06","slug":"on-my-design-wall-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.terryaskeartquilts.com\/Studio\/2013\/01\/02\/on-my-design-wall-14\/","title":{"rendered":"On my design wall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I made 2 entries for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clothpaperscissors.com\/content\/ReaderChallenges.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Cloth Paper Scissors Make Mine Mini reader challenge<\/a> and submitted them today.\u00a0 This was a fun challenge for me.\u00a0 Working in a miniature scale made me look at my fabric scraps in a whole new light!<\/p>\n<p><b>Rainy Day People<\/b> &#8211; A few months ago, I started designing an art quilt featuring silhouettes of pedestrians with colorful umbrellas.\u00a0 I reduced the size of the \u2018umbrella people\u2019 for this challenge.\u00a0 I used a gel medium to adhere the background fabrics to a 4\u201d x 4\u201d mini artist canvas, then fused the \u2018umbrella people\u2019 to the background.\u00a0 The umbrella spokes are drawn with a permanent marker.<\/p>\n<p><b>Scrappy Maple Leaf<\/b> &#8211;
