I made 2 entries for the Cloth Paper Scissors Make Mine Mini reader challenge<\/a> and submitted them today.\u00a0 This was a fun challenge for me.\u00a0 Working in a miniature scale made me look at my fabric scraps in a whole new light!<\/p>\n

Rainy Day People<\/b> – A few months ago, I started designing an art quilt featuring silhouettes of pedestrians with colorful umbrellas.\u00a0 I reduced the size of the \u2018umbrella people\u2019 for this challenge.\u00a0 I used a gel medium to adhere the background fabrics to a 4\u201d x 4\u201d mini artist canvas, then fused the \u2018umbrella people\u2019 to the background.\u00a0 The umbrella spokes are drawn with a permanent marker.<\/p>\n

Scrappy Maple Leaf<\/b> – Then, I got more adventurous and created a fabric collage of a maple leaf.\u00a0 I adhered scraps directly to the mini canvas with the gel medium, first the background, then the leaf and stem pieces, adding scraps until I was pleased with the result.<\/p>\n
